Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a transmission planning and studies engineer to support North American utility clients. The role emphasizes steady-state and transient power-system studies using PSS/E, TARA and PSCAD, with exposure to ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM or IESO.

The position offers flexible North American location with a preference for the Northeast; travel within North America is required. Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems and 4+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 4 years of direct experience with power system studies using PSS/E, TARA and/or PSCAD.
• Strong background with ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM or IESO.
• Up to date knowledge of NERC, FERC, and NPCC reliability standards.
• Willingness to travel within North America.

Responsibilities

• Perform steady-state and transient power system studies.
• Participate in meetings with utilities for project delivery or business development.
• Lead or support projects through the full lifecycle from bid/proposal to execution and close-out.
• Collaborate with North American and global teams.
• Engage in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and standards committees.
