Job summary

Central Maine Power Co seeks an Engineer - Transmission Planning to provide specialized technical expertise in power system studies, modeling and development of the transmission system. The role requires experience with modeling, analyzing, and planning transmission lines and substation facilities in an electrical power system.

The candidate will lead reliability studies, analyze complex transmission systems, document results, and mentor the team while collaborating with internal and industry

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; 2-4 years experience OR 1 year with MS.
PE license recommended.
Transmission planning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead reliability studies including power flow, short circuit, stability analyses.
Analyze complex transmission systems across voltage levels.
Document results and present recommendations to stakeholders.
Innovate to improve precision and efficiency of transmission planning.
Mentor team and collaborate with internal and regional peers.
Attend industry workshops and assist during storm restoration.
