Job summary

CENTRAL MAINE POWER CO is seeking an Engineer - Transmission Planning to provide transmission-focused technical expertise in power system studies from modeling to system development. The role emphasizes steady-state power flow, short circuit, and transient stability analyses within a regulated framework.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 2–4 years of related experience or 1 year with a related Master’s, and PE is recommended.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2-4 years of industry related experience OR 1 year with an industry related Master’s degree.
PE recommended

Responsibilities

Collaborate, perform, and lead reliability studies including power flow, short circuit, stability, and electromagnetic transient assessments.
Analyze and assess complex transmission systems across voltage levels; document results and provide recommendations.
Develop and apply understanding of planning criteria, standards (NERC, NPCC, ISO) and analysis software.
Participate in transmission/substation site inspections and industry workshops as needed.
Assist during storm restoration as assigned.
