AES Corporation is seeking a Transmission Planning Analysis Engineer to conduct studies for a broad range of transmission voltages and ensure reliability per FERC 715. You will use PSSE, TARA, ASPEN, and PSCAD, building models of power flow and stability while collaborating with internal teams.

The role requires a bachelor's in electrical or mechanical engineering and at least two years in the electric utility industry, with strong analytical and regulatory knowledge.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in the electric utility industry.
• Proficiency with PSSE, TARA, DSA Tools, ASPEN/CAPE, PSCAD and related software.
• Strong understanding of NERC/FERC regulatory frameworks and compliance.

Aufgaben

• Perform power flow, dynamic, transient, and voltage stability studies for 34.5 kV–345 kV transmission systems.
• Support NERC CIP and other regulatory compliance activities and audits.
• Model and assess changes and expansions to ensure system performance under FERC 715.
• Collaborate with utilities and stakeholders to evaluate transmission plans and cost efficiency.
