Job summary

1898 & Co. is a business, technology and security solutions consultancy with over 120 years of experience across complex industries. This role focuses on transmission planning studies and regulatory assessments for client projects in the US.

You will independently perform planning studies, analyze life-cycle costs, develop reports and client presentations, and support business development. Willingness to travel and telecommute part-year is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) plus 3 years in power system planning/operations.
• Or Master’s degree in engineering plus 2 years in power system planning/operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of studies including power flow, transient stability, transfer capability, short-circuit, voltage and harmonics analyses.
• Independently execute transmission system planning using industry software (PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP/ATP, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, Promod).
• Develop technical reports, client presentations, and contract administration for utility design/planning.
• Assist project managers in business development including proposals and client relationships.
• Travel up to 15% domestically for meetings; telecommuting up to 30 days per year.
