Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Program/Project Manager for Transmission & Substation Reliability Programs in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. This12-month contract role focuses on planning, governance, oversight, and performance management of grid investment programs across transmission and substation assets.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background with PM experience in electric utilities or infrastructure, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a track record of delivering programs

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in program/project management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience managing programs/projects involving engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or investment portfolios.
• Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and project performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee programs and projects related to transmission, substation, and relay & protection assets.
• Support utility grid investment planning and portfolio decision-making.
• Integrate engineering analysis, asset condition information, operational considerations, financial constraints, and risk assessments to establish investment priorities.
• Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
• Act as project/program owner and ensure successful initiation, development, and execution.
• Monitor project and program performance and regularly report on KPIs and overall progress.
• Support initiatives focused on reducing system risk, mitigating asset failure, improving grid resiliency, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, financial, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Maintain strong governance, organization, documentation, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Pay range: $80-82/hr (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Program/Project Manager to support utility grid investment programs within the Transmission & Substation (T&S) Reliability Programs team. This role will focus on planning, governance, oversight, and performance management of reliability and resiliency-driven investment programs across transmission, substation, and relay & protection assets.

This ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background combined with program/project management experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, and experience working in an electric utility or infrastructure environment.
