17880 Required:
• Experience technically supporting a variety of Transmission line projects at 230kV or above (8+ years)
• B.S. in Engineering with a deep knowledge of at least one Transmission discipline.
17880 Preferred:
• Professional Engineer certification
• Field experience
• Experience developing standards
17879 Required:
• Experience working on significant transmission projects.
• Experience with FERC Order 1000 competitive projects and early engineering on acquisitions.
• Experience defining and influencing project requirements and scope.
17879 Preferred:
• Experience with competitive transmission proposals
• Experience with value engineering and solutions development
• Experience with HVDC Transmission
• EHV overhead transmission experience (500kV+)
• Underground or submarine cable experience
17661 Required:
• Availability to travel within North America (required);
• Direct experience in the development, design, engineering, and construction of High Voltage Transmission line projects (7+ years);
• Experience with transmission design;
• Experience with one-line and three-line diagrams, general arrangements, plan and profiles and other common deliverables;
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering.
17661 Preferred:
• Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience;
• Experience with standard industry tools such as PLSCADD, Microsoft products, Auto-CAD, Primavera and other software;
• PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline.
Responsibilities:
• Provide A+ technical support to the Project Engineering teams while maintaining the schedule and budget of assigned projects.
• Use in depth Transmission line knowledge, teamwork, and engineering judgement to respond to project Requests for Information.
• Develop, interpret, and implement Transmission line standards.
• Lead and mentor Project Engineers to better understand technical requirements.
• Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement.
• Actively engage in team meetings and projects where communication and a team-oriented mindset are critical.
• Assert accurate responses within project timeframes.
