Job summary

ATC is seeking a Sr. Transmission Line Services Engineer in Michigan to pair strong transmission line expertise with a customer service mindset.

You will lead standards efforts, translate technical information into practical applications, and support engineering, construction and maintenance to keep assets safe, cost effective, and reliable for the communities we serve. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required or equivalent experience.
• PE license in Wisconsin or Michigan is not required but preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in transmission line engineering, design, standards development, asset management, or related utility engineering functions.
• Foundational knowledge across transmission line disciplines and ability to grow into SME responsibilities.
• Familiarity with industry standards and utility practices (NESC, IEEE, NERC, ASCE, RUS).
• Experience collaborating with consultants, contractors, equipment vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Clear, structured communicator who can work collaboratively and keep stakeholders informed.

Responsibilities

• Drive standards excellence by creating and revising transmission line design standards, templates, and guides.
• Provide timely support for engineering, construction, and maintenance teams and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Evaluate vendors and pilots for new technologies to enhance asset performance and long-term value.
• Identify process improvements across engineering, procurement, and construction to boost quality and efficiency.
• Guide standards, performance, and lifecycle strategies to support long-term system reliability.
