The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the development of transmission systems and infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality solutions to meet our clients' needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-voltage transmission lines and systems, including route selection,structure design, and conductor sizing.
- Perform load flow studies, with steel/concrete structure and foundation design & analysis, andstability analyses to ensure the reliability and safety of transmission systems.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and drawings for transmission projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
- Analyze and troubleshoot existing transmission systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including NERC, FERC, and local codes.
- Utilize advanced software tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, PSS/E, AutoCAD) for system analysis and design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related degree from an
- Accredited program is required.
- 10+ years of experience in transmission engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
- Experience with overhead and underground distribution systems is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in transmission line design software such as PLS-CADD, AUTOCAD, M-FAD, LPILE analysis, or similar.
- Ability to interpret boring log information, analyze structure calculations and design distribution
- Strong understanding of power systems analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.
