Join to apply for the Transmission Line Principal Engineer role at Westinghouse Electric Company.

We are searching for a Transmission Line Principal Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2 position). The role involves managing the design of transmission lines for Wind, Solar, Battery Energy Storage, and stand-alone transmission projects.

The Transmission Line Principal Engineer works within the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group, overseeing the design of transmission line projects from conception to construction and commissioning. Design work is performed by engineering consultants under the engineer's supervision. This role focuses solely on transmission lines; other aspects like substation design and power systems are managed by separate teams.

Location: Juno Beach, FL 33408

Duration: 1 year contract (W-2)

Responsibilities

1. Secure engineering consulting resources by developing scopes, obtaining bids, evaluating proposals, and awarding work through NEER’s ISC Group.
2. Coordinate with project stakeholders to develop and secure routes, engineering data, and permits, including geotechnical and lidar data. Manage sourcing and contracting of geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services, supporting cost estimation.
3. Manage engineering deliverables for proposals, design, and construction, including various types of drawings and design criteria, and contribute to proposal documents.
4. Coordinate with other groups to ensure project success and represent E&C’s interests through presentations and briefings to management.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
2. At least 5 years of experience in high voltage transmission line project development, design, engineering, and construction.
3. Strong knowledge of transmission design, excellent communication and project management skills, and proven analytical/problem-solving abilities.
4. Ability to understand engineering diagrams and deliverables.
5. Willingness to travel within North America.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience in project engineering and/or project management; PMP or P.E. certification is a plus.
2. Proficiency with industry tools such as PLSCADD, AutoCAD, Primavera, and Microsoft Office.
