Job summary

HDR, Ann Arbor, Michigan, is seeking a Transmission Line Intern to join our team of engineers and scientists. The selected candidate will be a current student or recent graduate with limited power delivery experience, and will assist in design packages, simple calculations, and field reviews.

You will work under a Project Engineer, Project Leader, or Project Manager, gaining hands-on experience in power system engineering while supporting a culture of inclusion and employee ownership.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities

HDR, Ann Arbor, Michigan location, is looking for a Transmission Line Intern to join our team of professionals in a rapidly growing and nationally ranked company dedicated to engineering excellence. The selected candidate will be a current student or recent graduate with little to no power delivery experience. In this position you will be expected to

• Perform tasks with varying levels of complexity, which are assigned by a Project Engineer, Project Leader, or Project Manager
• Tasks will include being able to follow direction, assisting engineers in preparing design packages, performing simple calculations, attending internal meetings and participating in field reviews

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with a minimum of 3.0 GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Courses in Power/Energy a plus

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Attention to detail
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
