Job summary

Welty Energy & Infrastructure, LLC is seeking a Transmission Line Estimator to join our growing Energy team. This remote role can be worked from anywhere in the mainland United States, aligned to ET hours.

You will create utility project estimates, act as an extension of our client’s team, and support the Welty Project Management Team while mentoring junior estimators. Candidates should have 2+ years of transmission design or estimating experience and a background in engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload while communicating efficiently and effectively with internal and external clients.
• Solid understanding of engineering design / drawing packages.
• High school or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical degree is advantageous.
• 2+ years of either transmission design or estimating experience within the electric utility industry is required.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, specifically Excel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Create preliminary project schedules considering lead times, crews, construction durations, siting etc.
• Write Scope of Work for conceptual/pre-funding approval projects.
• Work with internal transmission layout teams for preliminary transmission designs.
• Create and review estimates.
• Work on projects involving 25kV-765kV Utility Power Equipment Transmissions.
• Coordinate with scoping, estimating teams, planning, protection engineering, sponsors, and regional contacts.
• Attend regional meetings to review the status of all open estimates.
• Review/approve/reject estimate requests in OPPM.
• Build accurate project schedule timelines for substation and support estimates.

Welty Energy & Infrastructure (WE&I) is looking for an Transmission Line Estimatorto join our growing Energy team.

As aTranmission Line Estimator, you will create utility project estimates, act as an extension of our client’s team and provide best-in-class service. As a Tranmission Line Estimator , you will be involved with consulting on select projects as well as providing assistance to the Welty Project Management Team and mentoring junior Estimators.

This position can be remote in the mainland United States, operating in ET hours.

• Create preliminary project schedules considering lead times, crews, construction durations, siting etc.
• Write Scope of Work for conceptual/pre-funding approval projects.
• Work with internal transmission layout teams for preliminary transmission designs.
• Create and review estimates.
• Work on projects involving 25kV-765kV Utility Power Equipment Transmissions.
• Review/Aide supplemental support estimates such as, but not limited to, forestry, SCADA/IT network, fiber, testing and commissioning, and related
• Coordinate with other scoping and estimating team members, planning and protection engineering, sponsors, regional contacts and personnel from the supplemental support estimate staff.
• Attend regional meetings with planning, protection and other stakeholders to review the status of all open estimates.
• Review/approve/reject estimate requests in OPPM.
• Build accurate project schedule timelines for substation and support estimates.

What we require:

What we prefer:

• Experience with substation design, construction, and/or testing (aligned with estimating experience).
• Ability to mine and analyze data.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is highly preferred.
