Welty Energy is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Estimator to join our Energy team. The role supports project estimates, client liaison, and mentoring junior estimators from the Akron, OH area or remote across the mainland United States in ET hours.

As Senior, you’ll help with consulting on select projects and support Welty’s Project Management Team, enabling successful planning and execution for 4kV–765kV utility work.

Qualifikationen

• High school or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical degree is advantageous.
• 6+ years of experience in transmission line design or utility estimating, focused on Substation and Transmission work.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, specifically within Excel.

Welty Energy is looking for a Senior Transmission Line Estimator to join our Energy team!

Who is Welty Energy?

Welty Energy, an affiliate of Welty, is a professional services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, substation engineering and construction oversight on transmission, substation and distribution projects ranging in voltages from 4kV to 765kV.

Headquartered in Akron, OH, and working nationally, Welty Energy currently manages approximately $500 million in construction projects for electric utilities in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S.

As a Senior Tranmission Line Estimator, you will create utility project estimates, act as an extension of our client and provide best-in-class service. As the Senior, you will be involved with consulting on select projects as well as providing assistance to the Welty Project Management Team and mentoring junior Estimators.

This position can be remote in the mainland United States, operating in ET hours.

As a Senior S&T Estimator, You May

• Produce Conceptual New Transmission Line Routes on a Google Earth KMZ file with pole placements.
• Create preliminary project schedules considering lead times, crews, construction durations, siting etc.
• Write Scope of Work for conceptual/pre-funding approval projects.
• Work with internal transmission line layout teams for preliminary transmission line designs.
• Create and review substation and transmission line estimates using Sage and Navigator software.
• Work will involve 25kV-765kV Utility Power Equipment for Line and Substation.
• Review/Aide supplemental support estimates such as, but not limited to, access roads, forestry, SCADA/IT network, fiber, testing and commissioning, and related.
• Coordinate with other scoping and estimating team members, planning and protection engineering, sponsors, regional contacts and personnel from the supplemental support estimate staff.
• Attend regional meetings with planning, protection and other stakeholders to review the status of all open estimates.
• Review/approve/reject estimate requests in OPPM.
• Build accurate project schedule timelines for transmission line and support estimates

What We Require

• Ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload while communicating efficiently and effectively with internal and external clients.
• Solid understanding of engineering design/drawing packages.
• High school or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical degree is advantageous.
• 6+ years of experience in transmission line design, or utility estimating, specifically focused on Substation and Transmission work.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, specifically within Excel.

What We Prefer

• Sage Estimating software, Navigator, OPPM (Primavera P6), Google Earth, PLS CAD.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with Substation or Transmission line design, construction, and/or testing (aligned with estimating experience).
• Ability to mine and analyze data.
