Job summary

Welty Energy is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Estimator to join our Energy team. The role supports project estimates, client liaison, and mentoring junior estimators from the Akron, OH area or remote across the mainland United States in ET hours.

As Senior, you’ll help with consulting on select projects and support Welty’s Project Management Team, enabling successful planning and execution for 4kV–765kV utility work.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical degree is advantageous.
• 6+ years of experience in transmission line design or utility estimating, focused on Substation and Transmission work.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, specifically within Excel.

Responsibilities

• Produce conceptual transmission line routes on Google Earth KMZ files with pole placements.
• Create preliminary project schedules considering lead times, crews, construction durations and siting.
• Write Scope of Work for conceptual/pre-funding approval projects.
• Collaborate with transmission line layout teams for preliminary designs.
• Create and review substation and transmission line estimates using Sage and Navigator.
• Review supplemental estimates such as access roads, forestry, SCADA/IT, fiber, testing and commissioning.
