Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking an Associate Engineer in Tampa, FL to provide entry-level engineering support on high-voltage transmission design projects. You will assist with line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, and various design tasks from foundation to construction support.

The role involves preparing work packages, evaluating design options, and assisting with cost estimates. A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, with EI/EIT preferred and 1+ years of related

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• EI/EIT certification preferred.
• 1+ years of related transmission line engineering experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ASCE and ACI standards.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and calculations.
• Ability to work safely and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand design criteria.
• Build design models using the PLS software suite.
• Develop and analyze foundation designs (e.g. FAD, FD6, APile, LPile).
• Spot structures and evaluate clearance and structural utilization in PLS-CADD.
• Evaluate design alternatives and run reports (Structure Checks, Stringing Charts).
• Prepare work packages and release letters.
• Produce estimates of man-hours and task completion dates.
• Manage multiple tasks for multiple projects.
