Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.
  • 3+ years of transmission line design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of NESC, IEEE standards.
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD.

Responsibilities

  • Lead transmission line design projects using PLS-CADD and related engineering software.
  • Develop design criteria, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Prepare complete construction packages, including structure details, material lists, plan and profiles, staking tables, and stringing charts.
  • Perform project cost estimates, resource planning, and schedule development.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable NESC, IEEE, NEC, and industry standards.
  • Conduct routing studies, feasibility assessments, and EMF calculations.
  • Support construction and implementation activities, including foundation and structure reviews.
  • Participate in proposal development and business development efforts.
  • Interface directly with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

About the Opportunity

A leading employee-owned engineering and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to support a growing Power Delivery team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects while collaborating with industry experts on electric utility infrastructure programs across North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead transmission line design projects using PLS-CADD and related engineering software.
  • Develop design criteria, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Prepare complete construction packages, including structure details, material lists, plan and profiles, staking tables, and stringing charts.
  • Perform project cost estimates, resource planning, and schedule development.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable NESC, IEEE, NEC, and industry standards.

  • Familiarity with AISC, ACI 318, ASCE 7, ASCE 10, ASCE 48, CSA, EIA/TIA-222, and GO95 standards.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
