Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Electrical/Structural CAD designer in Cranberry Township to develop transmission and distribution line drawings in a multi-disciplinary team. You will create line plans, hardware details, material lists and grounding specs in 3D CAD using AutoCAD and MicroStation, with on‑the‑job training and collaboration with engineers.

Expect to sketch to scale, interpret engineering input, and participate in site walkdowns when needed, applying attention to detail and clear

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in drafting or equivalent with 1+ years drafting coursework or experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• 5+ years of Transmission Lines design experience, including PLS-CADD.
• Knowledge of producing technical plans, drawings, and 3D models.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without CAD assistance.
• Ability to multitask across projects with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop transmission line plans and profile drawings, hardware details, material lists, and grounding details.
• Create master sketches to scale showing relation of installations to existing facilities.
• Consult with engineering staff to interpret inputs from specifications and calculations.
• Attend client site walkdowns with team members to gather design information.
• Interface with vendors/contractors to explain drawings and drive design adjustments.
