AEP in New Albany, Ohio seeks a Transmission Line Designer to support overhead and underground transmission projects, route planning with GIS and PLS-CADD, and production of construction drawings and material specifications.

You will collaborate with environmental, civil and permitting teams, perform site assessments, gather field data, and assist in training colleagues while adhering to safety and company policies.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in drafting/CAD or similar field, or equivalent experience.
• HS diploma with 6+ years in electric utility CAD drafting or related work.
• Overtime and shift work availability; travel >10% expected.
• Familiarity with drafting symbols and color differentiation; valid driver's license.

• Create, revise and maintain engineering and record drawings and sketches.
• Maintain facilities and equipment documents and species; construction, equipment, property records.
• Gather information from sketches, field notes, vendor catalogs and site visits.
• Perform mathematical calculations required for the tasks.
• Proficient use of CAD software and MS Office.
