Job summary

AES is seeking a Transmission Line Design Engineer to handle engineering and design requirements for new and existing transmission lines across the AES-Ohio system, including routing layouts, procurement support, and coordination with construction teams. The role covers diverse projects and requires collaboration with multiple internal groups.

The engineer will respond to outages and support storm restoration, with responsibilities ranging from system analysis to documenting and applying AES

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering Required.
• Fluently communicate technical knowledge with other Engineers.
• Understand terms and exchange information with Project Management, System Operating, Plant Accounting, T&D Planning, Test Department, Sub Services and Major Account Reps.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations of transmission line support systems.
• Assist in planning, design, and construction management of transmission line projects.
• Assist in root cause analysis to prevent future failures.
• Coordinate with construction management and field crews to support projects.
• Assist Storm Teams to re-energize lines and restore service to customers.
• Work with suppliers to procure structures and equipment.
• Provide field construction support to Contractors and Line Maintenance groups.
