Environmental Science Associates (ESA) seeks an experienced Client Development Director of Transmission Strategy & Business Development to lead market expansion across the U.S. power sector.

The role focuses on identifying opportunities, building executive relationships, and converting them into revenue-generating projects, with a strong commercial mindset. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of transmission experience, strategic leadership, and a track record of growing client

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in transmission, utilities, power infrastructure, renewable energy, or related energy markets.
• Strong business development and client relationship building with executives.
• Proven ability to translate grid challenges into commercial solutions.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through complex pursuits and project development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a national or regional business development strategy focused on transmission development, grid modernization, interconnection, and utility infrastructure.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of transmission opportunities aligned with revenue targets.
• Identify opportunities through utility planning, RTO/ISO, generation development and grid modernization programs.
• Lead full business development lifecycle from market intelligence to client engagement, proposal strategy, and contract negotiations.
• Develop capture strategies for strategic pursuits and major transmission programs.
• Partner with technical teams to create differentiated solutions addressing client transmission challenges.
• Maintain visibility into pipeline value, timing, and revenue expectations.
