Environmental Science Associates (ESA) seeks a Client Development Director of Transmission Strategy & Business Development to lead national market expansion and strategic client development across the U.S. power sector.

The role is based in Tampa, FL with a hybrid schedule, focusing on converting transmission opportunities into revenue-generating projects. The ideal candidate will build executive relationships with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, developers, and EPCs, and translate grid challenges into

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
15+ years in transmission, utilities, or related energy markets.
Experience building executive relationships within utilities.
Proven ability to generate multi-million-dollar opportunities.
Strong understanding of transmission development, interconnection, and grid planning.
Experience with investor-owned utilities, ISOs/RTOs, EPCs.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a national or regional business development strategy for transmission.
Build and maintain a pipeline of transmission opportunities.
Identify opportunities through utility capital plans and grid modernization.
Lead the full business development lifecycle from market intelligence to account expansion.
Develop capture strategies for major transmission programs.
Partner with technical teams to address client transmission challenges.
Maintain visibility into pipeline value and timing.
Support pricing, contract negotiations, and presentations for major pursuits.
