Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry, Urban Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Arboriculture, or related field plus 2 years of experience as a contract utility forester OR
• Associate’s degree in one of the same fields plus 4 years of experience in utility vegetation management OR
• High school diploma and 6 years as a contract forester or related position in the utility industry.

Responsibilities

• Ground patrol lines and facilities after training to assess vegetation conditions and plan management.
• Perform aerial patrols to assess conductor clearances and document conditions.
• Investigate landowner issues and resolve constraints in vegetation management plans.
• Estimate vegetation management requirements and costs with assistance.
• Develop and schedule short- and long-term vegetation work plans and priorities.
• Coordinate with landowners, agencies, and other utilities for right-of-way plans.
• Inspect contractors for safety and contract compliance; recommend actions as needed.
• Apply vegetation management program provisions and ensure FAC-003 compliance.
• Maintain records and generate cost and performance reports; operate forestry software.
