Job summary

Entergy’s Transmission Department is seeking a Student, Intern to join a collaborative engineering team in New Orleans, LA. The role focuses on assisting engineers with daily tasks, design work, and field modeling to support grid reliability.

The internship requires active enrollment in an engineering program with a minimum 2.8 GPA and sophomore or higher standing. Travel up to 25% may be required as projects progress.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral program in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Must maintain at least a 2.8 GPA with transcript verification.
• Preferred: Junior or higher standing at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in day-to-day activities as part of a team.
• Design optimum T-Line solutions based on scoping and site visits.
• Model surveyed field configurations using design software.
• Estimate project costs and manage materials and staging.
• Support construction projects and process as-built documentation.
• Attend meetings to support projects, department operations, and safety.
• Engage in special projects to improve grid reliability; respond to equipment failures.
• Maintain models and drawings; some travel up to 25%.
