Job summary

Electric Power Systems, Inc. in Alaska seeks a Transmission Line Design Engineer to develop transmission line designs, perform engineering analyses, select routes, and spot structures.

The role includes business development, client interaction, and technical design, plus project review, standards development, drawings, specs, cost estimates, scheduling, and project management. Proficiency with PLS-CADD is required, and knowledge of the NESC code is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with PLS-CADD for transmission line design.
• Knowledge of the NESC code and applicable standards.
• Alaska professional engineer license or ability to obtain in near term.
• Experience in transmission line design, analysis, route selection, and structure spotting.

Responsibilities

• Develop transmission line designs, perform engineering analyses, and compute line design calculations.
• Lead route selection, structure spotting, and associated design tasks.
• Support business development and interact with clients on projects.
• Perform technical design, project reviews, developing transmission standards, drawings, specs, cost estimates, scheduling and management.

We are currently seeking a skilled Transmission Line Design Engineer to join our team.This is a full-time position and may require some travel.Proficiency utilizing PLS-CADD is required.You must have knowledge of NESC code as well.Alaska professional engineer/registration or the capability of acquiring the registration in the near future is preferred.You will be responsible for the development of transmission line design (engineering analysis, route selection, structure spotting, and line design calculations), business development, and client interaction.Other responsibilities include technical design, project review, development of transmission standards, drawings, specifications, cost estimating, project scheduling, and project management.
