Job description

The Transmission Construction Representative will be responsible for performing duties associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station facilities. The Representative will provide site management for the Transmission Station and/or Line projects, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations and Client Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate contractor duties and assignments for Transmission Lines or Transmission Station facilities.
• Review Client Company plans, drawings, and specifications for constructability before construction and report potential issues.
• Provide construction site coordination to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations and Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.
• Generate standard and ad‑hoc construction progress reports as requested by the client.
• Use computer/technology skills to interface with Client databases.
• Manage drawings and specifications.
• Oversee outage(s) management.
• Maintain safety and environmental compliance.
• Provide quality performance feedback on contractors, materials, and equipment.
• Handle material management duties related to transmission construction coordination, inspection, receipt, and delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site.
• Inspect and check materials for shortages, timeliness, damages, and correctness; prepare reports for corrective actions and coordinate delivery of materials to the job site.
• Coordinate required outages with the responsible Operation Center and arrange for or accept Operating Orders from the Dispatching Authority as required.
• Maintain construction oversight for OSHA compliance requirements in accordance with the company’s construction compliance oversight program.
• Provide estimates as requested to allow authorization of station or line transmission construction work by contract forces, including verification of work performed.
• Work and communicate with the entire Project Team to contribute to the successful completion of the project.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management (construction supervision is a plus) OR ABET‑accredited associate degree in electrical or civil engineering technology with 2 years of transmission line or substation work (construction supervision is a plus) OR high school diploma or GED with 6 + years of construction experience building electric transmission/distribution substations and transmission lines (construction supervision is a plus).
• Computer literate: proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Willingness to work long hours in remote locations as required.
• Must pass a screening process, including drug test, background check, and driving record check.
• First Aid/CPR training is a plus.
• OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
