Job summary

Techserv is seeking a Transmission Construction Representative to manage transmission line and station construction sites, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as client standards and drawings. You will coordinate contractors, review plans, and generate construction progress reports while ensuring safety and environmental standards.

• High school diploma or GED with 6+ years of relevant transmission construction experience.
• Computer literate: proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate contractor duties for line and transmission station construction.
• Review plans, drawings, and specs for constructability before work begins.
• Provide site coordination to ensure regulatory and client standards compliance; generate progress reports.
• Provide quality feedback on contractors, materials, and equipment.
• Manage material receipt, inspection, and delivery to site; report shortages or damages.
• Coordinate outages with the Operation Center and Dispatching Authority as required.
• Maintain OSHA compliance per company program.
• Estimate and verify work for authorization by contract forces.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management

ABET-accredited associate degree in electrical or civil engineering technology

6+ years of construction experience building Electric transmission/Distribution substations and Transmission lines

High school diploma or GED with 6+ years of construction experience

Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Valid driver’s license

Job description

The Transmission ConstructionRepresentative will be responsible for performing duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station facilities. The Transmission Construction Representative will provide construction site management for the Transmission Station and/or Line construction projects to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Client Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.

Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for coordinating contractor’s duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station Facilities.
2. Review the Client Company’s Plans, Drawings, and Specifications for constructability prior to the start of construction and report potential constructability issues.
3. Provide construction site coordination to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.
   1. Generate standard and ad-hoc construction progress reports as requested by the client.
   2. Computer/Technology skills necessary to interface with Client’s databases

4. Provide quality performance feedback on contractors, materials, and equipment.
5. Material Management Duties as they relate to the transmission construction coordination, inspection, receipt, and delivery of material and equipment to the construction site.
   1. Inspect and check materials for shortages, timeliness, damages, and correctness. Prepare reports for appropriate corrective actions and coordinate delivery of materials to the job site.
6. Coordinate required outages with the responsible Operation Center and arrange for or accept Operating Orders from the Dispatching Authority as required.
7. Maintain construction oversight for OSHA compliance requirements in accordance with the company’s construction compliance oversight program.
8. Provide estimates as requested to allow authorization of station or line transmission construction work by contract forces, including verification of work performed.
9. Work and communicate with the entire Project Team to contribute to the successful completion of the project.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management [Construction supervision is a plus]
  • Or ABET-accredited associate degree in electrical or civil engineering technology and 2years of experience in transmission line work or substation work. [Construction supervision is a plus]
  • Or High school diploma or GED and 6+ years of construction experience building Electric transmission/Distribution substations and Transmission lines. [Construction supervision is a plus]
• Computer literate: can efficiently utilize Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Willingness to work long hours in remote locations as required.
• Must pass a screening process (drug test, background check, and driving record check)
• First Aid/CPR Training is a plus
• OSHA 30 Certified is a plus
