Job summary

TechServ Engineering seeks a Transmission Construction Representative to manage construction of transmission lines and stations, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with contractors and the project team. The role requires site oversight, material management, and outage coordination.

The candidate will review plans, generate reports, and interface with client databases while maintaining safety and environmental standards. Travel to remote sites is expected where required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or ABET-accredited associate degree with experience.
• High school diploma or GED with 6+ years of transmission construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate contractor duties and assignments for transmission line or station construction.
• Review plans, drawings, and specifications for constructability and report issues.
• Provide construction site coordination to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
• Generate construction progress reports as requested by the client.
• Interface with client databases and manage materials at site.
• Coordinate outages with Operations Center and arrange related orders.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and provide estimates for work authorization.
• Collaborate with project team to ensure successful project completion.

Job description

The Transmission Construction Representative will be responsible for performing duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station facilities. The Transmission Construction Representative will provide construction site management for the Transmission Station and/or Line construction projects to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Client Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for coordinating contractor’s duties and assignments associated with the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station Facilities.
• Review the Client Company’s Plans, Drawings, and Specifications for constructability prior to the start of construction and report potential constructability issues.
• Provide construction site coordination to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.
• Generate standard and ad-hoc construction progress reports as requested by the client.
• Computer/Technology skills necessary to interface with Client’s databases

• Provide quality performance feedback on contractors, materials, and equipment.
• Material Management Duties as they relate to the transmission construction coordination, inspection, receipt, and delivery of material and equipment to the construction site.
• Inspect and check materials for shortages, timeliness, damages, and correctness. Prepare reports for appropriate corrective actions and coordinate delivery of materials to the job site.
• Coordinate required outages with the responsible Operation Center and arrange for or accept Operating Orders from the Dispatching Authority as required.
• Maintain construction oversight for OSHA compliance requirements in accordance with the company’s construction compliance oversight program.
• Provide estimates as requested to allow authorization of station or line transmission construction work by contract forces, including verification of work performed.
• Work and communicate with the entire Project Team to contribute to the successful completion of the project.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management [Construction supervision is a plus]
• Or ABET-accredited associate degree in electrical or civil engineering technology and 2years of experience in transmission line work or substation work. [Construction supervision is a plus]
• Or High school diploma or GED and 6+ years of construction experience building Electric transmission/Distribution substations and Transmission lines. [Construction supervision is a plus]
• Computer literate: can efficiently utilize Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Willingness to work long hours in remote locations as required.
• Must pass a screening process (drug test, background check, and driving record check)
• First Aid/CPR Training is a plus
• OSHA 30 Certified is a plus
