Job summary

PNM in New Mexico is seeking a project and program management professional to lead the coordination and facilitation of transmission line construction and upgrades. The role ensures contractors meet quality, scope, schedule and budget objectives across multiple large projects.

Responsibilities include managing inspectors on-site, coordinating with control authorities for switching, and ensuring safe operations while maintaining regulatory compliance and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 7+ years of related experience.
• Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet driving record requirements.
• Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent activities under tight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manages contractor work progress and completion on multiple projects.
• Meets with field inspectors regularly to ensure progress and communicates with project team to identify issues.
• Performs field audits and inspections to ensure safety, QA/QC, and compliance with standards.
• Develops procedures related to company work or equipment installations and operation.
• Reviews switching procedures and coordinates clearances with control authorities.
• Schedules switching procedures to ensure outage availability and avoid conflicts.
• Identifies safety issues on-site and communicates with stakeholders.
• Provides training to contract inspectors and may assist in onboarding junior engineers.
• Recommends field changes, material purchases, and engages with customers to ensure satisfaction.
