Job summary

ETE REMAN in Milwaukee seeks a Transmission Builder to assemble and inspect transmissions to high quality standards on the production line. You will read work instructions, perform tests, and maintain a clean, organized work area while meeting daily production goals.

You will contribute to continuous improvement, help train teammates, and uphold ETE Reman core values of quality, teamwork, and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and have a high school diploma preferred.
• Automotive and transmission building experience is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly inspect parts, build transmissions, maintain one piece flow to avoid mixing job numbers.
• Build at least 1 unit/transmission per hour and assist others when caught up with own work.
• Ensure all parts are clean, free from dirt and grime and in good usable condition for the build.
• Read and follow detailed assembly work instructions, process and procedures and keep an even workflow.
• Verify and perform quality checks to ensure all parts and assemblies are correct for the unit being built.
• Complete tests and builder check sheets; use whiteboard to track daily production and record issues.
• Follow and use VKS on every unit to verify correct build to ETE Reman’s standards.
• Keep work area clean of loose debris and dirt; sweep and mop daily.
• Suggest improvements, help train new personnel, communicate issues, and work overtime when needed.
• Follow directions from team leads, supervisors and managers; be proactive and helpful.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment and punctual attendance.

As a Transmission Builder you carry considerable responsibility and play a major role in the team of building and producing the best, highest quality, and most reliable transmission in the industry. This is key and very important in the remanufacturing process of transmissions and to all our customers. Your day will be spent assembling transmissions and thoroughly inspecting parts to quality standards following our process & procedures. Working efficiently, interacting and helping other team members to ensure daily demands are met and processes run smoothly on the production line .

Responsibilities:

Follow and use VKS on every unit to verify that the unit is built correctly and to ETE Reman’s standards

Keep work area clean of loose debris and dirt, sweep and mop job area throughout the day

Suggest improvements, help train new personnel, communicate all issues, work overtime when needed

Follow directions from team leads, supervisors and managers, be proactive and helpful

Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, be at your workstation on time daily

Essential Functions:

Ability to perform computer tasks, read measurements, specifications and part lists, be detail oriented

Must be 18 years old, high school diploma preferred, have automotive & transmission building experience

Skill and ability of working with your hands, power tools (must provide your own) and other instruments
