Job summary

ETE REMAN in Milwaukee, WI is hiring a Sub Assembler to provide high quality parts and subassemblies for production lines. You will inspect components to quality standards, clean and assemble transmissions per our process and procedures, and work with teammates to meet daily demands.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a willingness to get dirty while handling chemicals.

Qualifications

  • Ability to use basic computer tasks and read measurements, specifications and part lists.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Willingness to work with chemicals.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for 8+ hours.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly inspect parts and build subassemblies, maintain one piece flow to avoid mixing job numbers.
  • Process at minimum 2 units per hour and assist others when caught up with own work.
  • Ensure all parts are clean and in good usable condition for production.
  • Verify parts and assemblies are correct for the unit being built.
  • Read and follow detailed assembly work instructions, processes and procedures; keep an even workflow.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure subassemblies pass and are built correctly, place parts on builder’s tray.
  • Follow and use QA checks on every unit to verify the unit is built correctly and to standards.
  • Keep work area clean of debris; sweep and mop as needed.
  • Suggest improvements, help train new personnel, communicate issues, and work overtime when needed.
  • Follow directions from leads/supervisors; be proactive and helpful.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment; be at workstation on time daily.

As a Sub Assembler you play a big part of the team by providing high quality parts and subassemblies to our production lines and builders. This is key and very important in the remanufacturing process of transmissions and to all our customers. Your day will be spent thoroughly inspecting parts to quality standards, cleaning and assembling components of a transmission for production following our process & procedures. You must work efficiently, interact and help other team members to ensure daily demands are met and processes run smoothly on the production line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly inspect parts and build subassemblies, maintain one piece flow in order not to mix job numbers
  • Process at minimum 2 units per hour and assist others when caught up with one’s own work

  • Verify to ensure all parts and assemblies are correct for the given unit being built
  • Read and follow detailed assembly work instructions, process & procedures and keep an even work flow
  • Perform quality checks to ensure subassemblies pass and are built correctly, place parts on builder’s tray
  • Follow and use VKS on every unit to verify that the unit is built correctly and to ETE Reman’s standards
  • Keep work area clean of loose debris and dirt, sweep and mop job area throughout the day
  • Suggest improvements, help train new personnel, communicate all issues, work overtime when needed
  • Follow directions from team leads, supervisors and managers, be proactive and helpful
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, be at your workstation on time daily

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use and perform basic computer tasks, read measurements, specifications and part lists
  • Must be 18 years old, high school diploma preferred, detail oriented, automotive/mechanical ability a plus
  • Willingness and understanding you will get dirty at times, and will have to work with chemicals
  • Skill and ability of working with your hands, hand tools (must provide your own) and other instruments
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8+ hours a day and under pressure at times
  • Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills
  • Self-starting and motivation; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others
  • Adhere to all safety rules, give it your all every day, must have regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
