Job summary

Railserve in Port Arthur, TX is hiring dependable Transloaders for daily rail and material handling operations at an industrial facility. This full-time, outdoor, hands-on role keeps railcars moving safely and efficiently. Salary ranges from $19.00 to $24.00 per hour, with 12‑hour shifts and 4 days on/off cycles.

Training provided, with overtime possible. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and must pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.

Job Description

In this role, you will support transloading operations and assist with the safe movement and placement of railcars. This is an entry-level opportunity with training provided for individuals who are reliable, safety-minded, and willing to learn. If you enjoy physical work, working outdoors, and being part of a safety-focused team, this role may be a great fit. Schedule 4 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 night shifts on and 4 night shifts off 12‑hour shifts (5:00 AM – 5:00 PM / 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM) Overtime may be required. Compensation $19.00 – $24.00 per hour (based on experience)

Duties

• Verify railcar numbers and placement according to instructions
• Assist with loading and unloading railcars using established procedures
• Connect and disconnect hoses, valves, and transfer equipment
• Operate switches, derails, and trackside equipment
• Control movement of equipment using radio, hand signals, and visual indicators
• Couple and uncouple railcars; handle air hoses and wheel chocks
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment
• Inspect equipment and work areas for safety and cleanliness
• Monitor operations and report any issues or hazards
• Assist with basic locomotive and rail operations as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
