Job summary

Railserve in Port Arthur, TX is hiring entry-level Transloaders to support daily rail and material handling operations outdoors. This full-time, hands-on role includes training and emphasizes safety. As a transloader you will verify railcar numbers, assist with loading/unloading, operate switches, and follow all safety procedures with PPE.

Schedule is 12-hour shifts, 4 days on/off, with overtime possible. Pay is $19.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience, with benefits from Day 1.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.

• Ability to climb on and off railcars, ladders, and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Verify railcar numbers and placement according to instructions.
• Assist with loading and unloading railcars using established procedures.
• Connect and disconnect hoses, valves, and transfer equipment.
• Operate switches, derails, and trackside equipment.
• Control movement of equipment using radio, hand signals, and visual indicators.
• Couple and uncouple railcars; handle air hoses and wheel chocks.
• Apply and release hand brakes to secure equipment.
• Inspect equipment and work areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Monitor operations and report any issues or hazards.
• Assist with basic locomotive and rail operations as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

In this role, you will support transloading operations and assist with the safe movement and placement of railcars.

This is an entry-level opportunity with training provided for individuals who are reliable, safety-minded, and willing to learn.

Schedule

• 4 days on, 4 days off, followed by 4 night shifts on and 4 night shifts off
• 12-hour shifts (5:00 AM – 5:00 PM / 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM)
• Overtime may be required

Compensation

$19.00 – $24.00 per hour (based on experience)
