Job summary

The Transload Operator at Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) is responsible for safely transferring materials between railcars, trucks, and storage units, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with safety procedures.

In an outdoor industrial setting, you will operate forklifts and other equipment, monitor flows, verify quantities, and support maintenance and cross-training duties while maintaining a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write and understand operating procedures and safety documents.
  • Willingness to receive general safety training.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial tools/equipment.
  • Willingness to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materials.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform transloading of bulk, liquid, hazardous, and/or dry commodities between railcars, trucks, and storage units.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, front-end loaders, conveyors, pumps, hoses, scales, and other industrial machinery.
  • Verify product quantities and ensure accuracy of bills of lading and shipment documentation.
  • Record measurements, temperatures, weights, and other required data and complete documentation.
  • Interact professionally with customers, railroad crews, team members, and visitors.
  • Communicate shipment discrepancies or quality issues to supervisors.
