Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a full-time technician to join a physician-scientist led research group in Rheumatology, focusing on translational studies of innate immune function in autoimmune conditions like lupus and APS. The role involves patient-derived samples and mouse models, with day-to-day supervision by a senior lab member.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4-5 years hands-on research experience.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments using ELISA, cell culture, immunofluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, Seahorse analyzer, western blotting and qPCR.
  • Conduct IACUC-approved procedures including rodent handling, gavage, injections, blood collection and dissection.
  • Assist with development and optimization of experimental protocols.
  • Interact with animal facility personnel to support lab organization and compliance.
  • Evaluate results and perform routine data analysis.
  • Co-author publications in peer-reviewed literature.
