Job summary

One Hope United is seeking a Transitional Living Program Supervisor in Zion, IL to oversee the daily management of a TLP living environment for youth. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring a supportive environment, and adhering to individual treatment plans.

The ideal candidate will hold a BA/BS degree and have at least 2 years of experience in mental health care, including supervisory roles. They will be responsible for documentation and participate in training to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience in supervision is preferred.

Job Summary

Under the assigned supervisor, the Transitional Living Program Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of a TLP living environment; this living environment promotes the learning of skills for emotional, mental, and physical health; primary responsibilities include providing a healthy, safe, clinical and structured environment, as specified in each youth’s Individual Treatment Plan and the OHU Transitional Living Program Plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides care and treatment to youth that is strength based, trauma informed and person centered.
  • Supervises a team of youth care workers and career/job coach as they perform duties associated with the day-to-day training, modeling, and skill-building of youth assigned.
  • Supervises a team of youth care workers and career/job coach as they teach and participate in individual and group instruction in daily living, recreational activities, social skills, independent living skills and career/job coaching as prescribed by each youth’s Individual Treatment Plan and the OHU Transitional Living Program Plan.
  • Participates in continual training and maintains certification in the implementation of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC) and all other required training.
  • Supervises staff as they follow OHU Transitional Living Program Plan, including daily schedule, trauma informed care and mental health treatment of youth in TLP care.
  • Demonstrates the highest investment in and commitment to quality improvement practices in order to continuously improve the delivery of services to our residents.
  • Participates in a weekly Clinical Team Meeting of the TLP.
  • Facilitates staff team meeting of TLP.
  • Completes Behavior and Program Plans for all residents.
  • Leads and facilitates career and employment activities for all clients.
  • Participates in all Individual Treatment Team Meetings and Reviews, Additional Staffings, Transition, and Discharge Staffings.
  • Attends training, seminars, and conferences as assigned.li>
  • Completes, in a timely and accurate fashion, all documentation required for the position.
  • Completes all performance evaluations within specified time frames.
  • Provides supervision to youth care staff and career/job coach as assigned in the TLP, including all documentation of supervision.
  • Schedules collaboration and creation of all youth care shifts and career/job coach for TLP, managing leave and vacation and minimizing any overtime shifts.
  • Responsible for an OHU credit card, coding and submitting of receipts.
  • Performs on call duties as assigned.
  • Treats with absolute confidence all information concerning OHU residents and programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: BA/BS degree in related and/or approved field and eligible for MHP status.

Experience: Minimum 2 years congregate care of other approved mental health experience. Required. Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Certification: MHP eligible.

Other: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance. DCFS background check and approval to transport youth. Must be physically able to complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) resistant training.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires visual and auditory acuity within professionally determined normal ranges, with correction if need; and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limited to, the telephone, computer, and copier. The employee is occasionally required to move items up to 50 pounds. The position requires certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, which does not involve physical restraint.

The employee works in varied TLP environments based on assigned caseload and may encounter unpredictable clients. While performing the duties of this position, the employee travels by automobile and is exposed to changing weather conditions. The employee must be able to enter and exit a vehicle or a building without assistance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently drive an automobile, taking clients to appointments, in the local and regional area. Occasionally, travel is outside the local area and overnight.
