Job summary

Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy in Rhode Island seeks a 26-27 Transitional Learning Center Teaching Fellow to rotate into teaching and support roles, delivering rigorous lessons and creating a positive classroom culture.

You will work with scholars in 1:1 or small groups, implement effective classroom management, and engage in ongoing professional development while partnering with families and teachers to promote equity and student success.

Qualifications

• Evidence of proficiency or awareness in the knowledge and practices of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy through the completion of a RIDE approved program or Rhode Island educator preparation program.
• Commitment to working with a diverse student and staff population.

Responsibilities

• Rotate into various teaching and support positions within a designated school.
• Execute academically rigorous lesson plans and administer directives with fidelity and efficiency.
• Implement classroom management practices consistent with the school culture.
• Provide and receive constructive feedback to improve professional practice.
• Collect progress monitoring data to support behavior interventions and academic supports.
• Work with scholars in 1:1 and small group settings to support behavior and academics.
• Support scholars with transitions and enrichment activities.
• Assist in family communication and collaboration with the special education teacher as needed.
