About this Position

Holy Trinity School is seeking a nurturing, faith-filled, and enthusiastic educator to serve as our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Teacher. This teacher will play a foundational role in introducing young learners to a love of learning while supporting their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development in a joyful Catholic environment. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education and understands the importance of creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom where young children can thrive. The successful candidate will help students build the foundational skills necessary for future academic success while fostering curiosity, confidence, independence, and a sense of wonder about God's world.

The primary responsibilities include

  • Preparing and implementing rigorous lesson plans that are differentiated to meet the learning needs of all students.
  • Creating and maintaining a learning environment where every child feels safe, loved, and inspired to learn and grow.
  • Supporting a school culture focused on faith, academic achievement, and virtue formation.

Holy Trinity teachers must possess a commitment to partner with families, a dedication to serve all students, and a desire to seek and implement feedback and grow professionally.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan, personalize, and execute lesson plans in assigned content areas.
  • Lead instruction using a rigorous curriculum that inspires intellectual curiosity, reinforces the joy of learning, and enables all students to thrive.
  • Teach all lessons with rigor, joy, and urgency.
  • Engage in an ongoing data-driven cycle of assessment, analysis, and action.
  • Achieve meaningful student achievement and growth results aligned with the school's mission and annual goals.
  • Implement school-wide systems for academics, culture, and character formation.
  • Connect with families through frequent phone calls, emails, conferences, and notes.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with students and parents that drive students to love learning, act with integrity, and make exceptional academic gains.
  • Participate in up to three weeks of summer training before school’s opening.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Help students develop a personal relationship with Christ, and work to grow in one’s own relationship with Christ.

The ideal candidate will bring experience, skills, and beliefs in the following areas

  • Possess a cleared California multiple or single subject teaching credential (preferred)
  • At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree and a desire to help students grow in faith, virtue, and intellect is required.
  • Basic Catechetical Certification (preferred)
  • Experience teaching in an elementary school classroom
  • A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture
  • Living as a faith-filled individual, who understands and honors the teachings of the Catholic Church and is passionate about sharing the Catholic faith
  • The ability to be flexible in a fast-paced school environment that is responsive to students’ needs.

Physical Requirements

To successfully meet the needs of the students in his/her care, the teacher must:

  • Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom. While standing the teacher will frequently hold objects they are working with or demonstrating
  • Sit on an occasional basis when developing lesson plans, grading, etc.
  • Walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks. Walk on both even and uneven surfaces
  • Deal with students while kneeling or squatting, stooping, or bending
  • Reach at, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity; may require trunk or neck rotation to look back at the class
  • Assist in moving children's desks and chairs to change the layout of the classroom to influence the learning situation. It is occasionally necessary to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 25 pounds from the office to classrooms While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to be inside the classroom

The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the classroom and preschool environment, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, trainings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend trainings or workshops, and/or field trips.
