Job summary

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Massachusetts is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 20-bed Transitional Care Unit. The role offers full-time or part-time schedules with every other weekend shifts, 7a-3p or a 7a-3p/3p-11p combo.

The base pay is $40.00-$44.00 per hour plus applicable diffs, with duties including supervision, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians to support geriatric residents in a skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• Knowledge of geriatric nursing required.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates all direct resident care and initiates corrective action as necessary.
• Provides clinical supervision of nursing assistants providing direct resident care.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the unit.
• Ensures physician renewal orders and documentation are timely and appropriate.
• Conducts resident rounds, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action.
• Identifies resident problems and emergency situations, and initiates immediate life-saving measures within nursing scope.
• Administers and documents medications and treatments per physician orders.
