Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) or LPN for the Transitional Care Team on a full-time, day-shift basis. Location is Waterloo, IA, with a 40-hour workweek (Mon-Fri).

The role focuses on chart preparation, referral coordination, fax/inbox management, and administrative support for patients in nursing home settings. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with patient care, taking vital signs, documentation, basic procedures, and ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification/Registration required within one year of hire.
• Must have completed an accredited LPN program.
• LPN license in the state of Iowa.
• Prefers at least 2 years of clinic experience and EPIC system experience.

Responsibilities

• Chart preparation, referral coordination, fax and inbox management, and admin support for nursing home patients.
• Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care: prep, vital signs, documentation, and basic procedures; coordinate patient flow and maintain medical records.
