Job summary

Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Transition to Practice Educator to support new nurses during orientation and post-orientation follow-up. The educator coordinates unit-based resources and mentors new staff to ensure a smooth transition to practice.

The role requires an active Texas RN license, current BLS, a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience, and at least 1 year of preceptor experience. BSN is preferred and the position is Full Time with 8-hour day shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid RN license issued by the state.
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certification on hire and maintain.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
• Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Transition to Practice Educator will serve as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators to facilitate a timely release from orientation by assessing needs and performance in live time.
• Once needs are identified, targeted knowledge and skill deficits can be addressed through the coordination of available resources.
• Addressing the specific needs of each new nurse will ensure their role development success as well as enhance patient outcomes.

We are seeking a Transition to Practice Educator . The Transition to Practice Educator provides continued educational support, training and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area. Ensuring a smooth transition to practice by providing unit-based support, coordinating the needs and resources for each new nurse by follow up during and after the orientation period.
