Job summary

A regional educational service agency in Port Huron is seeking a full-time Substitute Teacher to support the Next STEP Transition Program. Responsibilities include implementing individualized lesson plans, preparing student progress reports, and maintaining relationships with staff. Candidates should have knowledge of work-based learning, be able to lift 50 pounds, and hold a valid Michigan driver’s license. The position offers a salary of $19.25 per hour with a work schedule aligned to the school year.

Qualifications

• Must have significant knowledge and experience with transition services.
• Experience with Positive Behavior Supports is preferred.
• Must be physically able to perform various lifting and moving tasks.

Responsibilities

• Implement daily individualized lesson plans for students.
• Prepare and write student progress reports.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with all staff.

Skills

Experience in implementing work-based learning

Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports

Ability to lift 50 pounds

Experience with CPI training

Education

Bachelor degree preferred

Tools

Michigan Sub Permit

Valid Michigan driver’s license
