Job summary

VCU’s Center on Transition Innovations (CTI) seeks a Research and Demonstration Associate to provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to educators and school divisions, developing resources to support statewide transition initiatives.

The role emphasizes collaboration, strong communication, and capacity-building to improve transition outcomes for students as they move toward postsecondary education, employment, and independent living.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, rehabilitation counseling or related field/equivalent training.
• Extensive knowledge of evidence-based transition practices that facilitate postschool employment, education, and/or community living for students with disabilities.
• Prior experience in training and technical assistance in public school settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel regionally and overnight.

Responsibilities

• Coach division transition leaders on implementing research-based practices and high leverage practices through presentations and communities of practice.
• Conceptualize and develop training materials, such as course scripts and manuals.
• Collaborate with public schools and divisions to build capacity and improve transition services.
• Engage in research activities including recruitment, data collection, and dissemination, as well as external partnerships.
