The South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department is hiring to support transition students with Pre-Employment Transition Services and job placement guidance. This role involves coordinating with counselors and local employers to create work-based learning opportunities and provide coaching for summer programs.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in related fields and two years of rehabilitation experience; higher degrees are preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Vocational Evaluation, Rehabilitation Counseling, Technical or Adult Education, or Psychology required with two years of rehabilitation or related experience.
• Master's degree in Vocational Evaluation, Rehabilitation Counseling, Technical or Adult Education, or Psychology preferred.
• High school diploma with related experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree; transcripts will be required to verify college degree.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with counselors to assist with Pre-Employment Transition Services for transition students.

• Assist in coaching and monitoring students in JRT services during the summer.
• Prepare consumers to conduct effective job searches with instruction, support, and employment resources.
• Provide direct job placement and follow-up for student consumers needing assistance.
• Support students requiring supported employment services with job coaching, job matching, and on-the-job training.

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with the counselors to assist with Pre-Employment Transition Services specifically geared toward preparing transition students for work experiences.


• Coordinating with the Business Development Specialist (BDS) to make new and existing employer contacts to secure work-based learning experiences, to include job shadowing, job tryout, internship, summer employment, school-based work experiences and other community-based evaluation opportunities for transition students.


• Assisting in coaching and monitoring students participating in JRT services during the summer.


• Preparing consumers to have an effective job search by providing instruction, personal and peer support, networking opportunities, and provision of employment resources.


• Providing direct job placement and follow-up for all student consumers who require assistance.


• Supporting students identified as requiring supported employment services by providing job coaching support services and supported employment services such as job matching, job analysis, intensive on-the-job training, social skills training, identification of natural supports, and follow up services including assisting in the identification of an extended service provider.


• Providing on-going support during the transition of student's initial job adjustment and monitor progress regarding work performance and document consumer's adjustment.


• Providing job coaching for applicants participating in Trial Work Experiences (TWE).

• Bachelor's degree in Vocational Evaluation, Rehabilitation Counseling, Technical or Adult Education, or Psychology, and two years of rehabilitation or related experience.


• A high school diploma and related experience may substitute for the required bachelor's degree.
