State of South Carolina is seeking a dedicated vocational rehabilitation specialist to provide job development, placement, and supported employment services for consumers referred from IPS.

You will guide and plan toward successful vocational outcomes, train on-site job skills, and maintain weekly case notes while collaborating with a VR Counselor. The role requires adaptability to multiple environments and a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; or high school diploma with related career counseling/case management experience as a substitute for the degree.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to travel throughout the day to assist consumers at worksites.
• Must be able to work in various environments and on a flex schedule to meet consumers' needs.
• Knowledge and skill in conducting needs assessments.
• Knowledge of fact gathering methods and interviewing techniques.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Knowledge of principles of behavior adjustment techniques.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families, etc.

• Provide planning and guidance towards the achievement of successful vocational outcomes.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Or; a high school diploma and experience in career counseling or related case management may substitute for the required bachelor’s degree.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
