Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) seeks a Manager, Vehicle Engineering to lead the Vehicle Engineering Branch, directing engineering strategy for the 1,400+ bus fleet and support vehicles. Drive modernization, safety, reliability, and propulsion initiatives while meeting tight schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum eight years’ experience in technical vehicle engineering project and contract management.
Experience supervising staff and coordinating across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

Lead procurement efforts and resolve design and procurement problems.
Coordinate project scope, budgets, and resources.
Review contracts, bids, and procurement specifications.
Provide technical direction and supervise staff.
