Job summary

Amarillo Transit Maintenance seeks a Utility Worker to help keep fixed route buses, Spec-Trans vans, and staff cars clean and fueled. The role also reports vehicle issues to a mechanic for timely maintenance.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and a Texas Driver's License; you must obtain a Texas Class B CDL within 1 year. The position may involve city facilities and bus wash operations in all weather.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.
• Must be able to obtain a Texas Class B CDL within 1 year of employment.
• Ability to operate vehicles > 30' in length and drive Transit Department vehicles.

Responsibilities

• fuels Transit Department vehicles and cleans them inside and out.
• operates bus wash and parks vehicles in the barn.
• cleans Transfer Station and City Service Center facilities.
• performs routine maintenance tasks at bus wash and reports issues promptly.
• maintains cleaning supplies inventory and ensures SDS labeling.
• follows safety and footwear policies and works with Extra Board Operators.
• completes paperwork related to fueling and cleaning.
