Job summary

Hires Group in Chicago is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design of transit facilities from concept through construction. You will own technical direction, review calculations, and collaborate across architecture, civil, systems, and operations teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive the development of the structural engineering practice, and engage clients on proposals and scope.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
7+ years of experience in structural engineering with transit facility design expertise.

Responsibilities

Lead the structural design of transit infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
Serve as the technical authority for structural systems across projects.
Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, specs, and QC processes for codes/standards compliance.
Coordinate with architecture, civil, systems, construction, and operations teams to deliver complex projects.
Support project delivery through client engagement, proposal development, scope definition, and technical leadership.
Mentor junior engineers and support development of the structural engineering practice.
