Job summary

The Rapid is hiring a Transit Enforcement Officer in Grand Rapids, MI. You will enforce fare compliance, protect riders and facilities, and respond to security incidents on Rapid properties and vehicles.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and either security experience, an associate degree in criminal justice, or military police background. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the listed education/experience options.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Excellent communication and calm decision-making under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of Rapid buildings and property.
• Investigate fare evasion and related incidents; document reports daily and as needed.
• Monitor surveillance systems and control building access and key security.
• Provide information about The Rapid network and assist riders.
• Cross-train and perform other duties as assigned.
