Safety Trainer – Baltimore MTA Mobility. Transdev in Baltimore, Maryland is hiring a Safety Trainer to facilitate classroom and behind‑the‑wheel training to drivers. We are seeking customer service‑oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.
Position Details
- $27.32 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)
- Starting pay $27.32 with progression to $28.14 over 1 year.

- Vacation: 1st year of service – 72 hours.
- Paid Sick Leave: accrue up to 40 hours in accordance with the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act; available to use after the 107th day of employment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and behind‑the‑wheel training to new drivers.
- Maintain required training documentation and completion for compliance with state certification, company policies, and district, state & federal requirements.
- Perform additional safety program responsibilities such as accident investigation, forms compliance, and safety meetings.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years.
- 1 to 3 years of transportation & safety experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state safety rules and regulations.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations.
- Sit/Stand for extended periods (up to 8‑12 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on possible sloped or uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50‑100 pounds; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally kneel or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
Drug‑free Workplace
- Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
- Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
- If based in the United States, applicants must be eligible to work in U.S. without restrictions for any employer at any time; able to pass a drug screen and background check.
