Job summary

Golden Empire Transit District is seeking a Transit Safety Officer to develop and manage safety and security programs across GET operations. The role includes regulatory compliance, audits, investigation, and coordination of emergency response and training initiatives.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 3–5 years of safety experience, and CSP/ASP preferred, with strong analytical and communication skills. California driver’s license is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
• Three to five years of full-time work experience related to workplace safety.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
• Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS) or other safety methodologies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with GET’s safety policies and applicable local, state and federal regulations.
• Develop and manage the Agency Safety Plan and related programs.
• Oversee safety audits, inspections, and training programs across facilities and operations.
• Coordinate emergency response plans and drills; maintain documentation and reporting.
• Prepare complex technical safety reports and recommendations for management.
